The Convita with the Split patent has been in the international furniture market since 1994 and was rewarded the Norwegian “Classic award” in 2018. The aim of the Convita mechanism is to bring the human body from sitting to lying position with legs above the heart, in one “seamless” movement. Their idea for this advanced mechanism goes back to a project with SAS in the early 1990s to improve the comfort of overseas flights. This gave birth to the Convita for the international recline chair market.
